Description Imperata cylindrica ‘Red Baron’ A slowly spreading, perennial grass which forms loose clumps of flat linear, mid-green leaves, which quickly turn deep blood-red. In late summer, narrow, spike-like panicles of fluffy, silvery white spikelets are borne. Grow in a sunny position in well-drained fertile soil with plenty of moisture. It will reach a height of 40cm and a spread of 30cm or more.
